       Tune-ups

 

How often is a tune-up needed? Service requirements vary from vehicle to vehicle, and can also vary based on vehicle mileage and age. You can find your vehicle manufacturer-recommended schedule for tune-ups and other maintenance in your vehicle owner’s manual. To perform a basic engine tune-up we go through a series of inspections:

 

  • Inspect the engine’s fuel-system components, fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel injectors

  • Inspect the spark plugs, check performance to make sure they are functioning properly

  • Replace your vehicle’s points and condenser if needed

  • Check and adjust the ignition timing and idle if needed

  • Check the engine’s PCV valve

  • Check the vehicle’s engine air filter and cabin air filter

  • Check oil and coolant levels

Performing a car diagnostic test can reveal a range of problems associated with the car’s transmission, oil tank, petrol tank, exhaust system and various other components of the car. Many modern cars now come with computer processors, microchips and sensors, which can be linked to our diagnostic computer scanner.
